"La Trouvaille"-- Beautiful old stone village house in Sablet
"Charming, comfortable home in a great location in the heart of the village.
R.P., Cheshire, CT April, 2013
“My husband and I stayed a week in this cozy and comfortable house. We loved to sit on the raised terrace and watch the light play across the buildings around the town square. The view is amazing. The whole house seems to be totally done with taste and much thought.
Villagers were friendly and tolerant of poor French skills. We enjoyed the bakeries, cafe, and market day. We enjoyed touring the many villages nearby, but always felt we had the best spot at our house. Hiking up the ridge offers views to the valley, vineyards and Dentelles.
This is a plein air painter's dream house. I will be coming back some day.”

“Lovely house in a great location. Friendly, helpful communication from the owners. They did all they could to make booking as easy as possible and to email us useful information about the property and surrounding area. Lovely house with lots of home comforts and thoughtful touches. Everything was well provided for and very clean. No air conditioning, but electric fans were provided, for which we were grateful! Our two sons, aged 11 and 15 loved having wi-fi access. The terrace at the top of the house was fantastic and we never tired of sitting there in the evenings with a glass of wine watching the comings and goings in the market place below. The property was in a great location in the heart of a bustling village with good local amenities, including two boulangeries and a grocery store and easy access to main routes. Beautiful area to explore. We very much enjoyed our time there and would definitely recommend this property to others."

"Charming house in a charming village. The owners have left no stone unturned in providing for the comfort of their guests. Easy parking nearby. Well-equipped kitchen with gas grill on the terrace. Perfectly suited for two couples with a bedroom and sitting area on each of the top two floors. The unique hole-in-the-wall terrace offers beautiful views of the surrounding hills and protection from the elements. Shopkeepers were amazingly friendly and patient with our poor French language skills. Le Pain Medieval Boulangerie Patisserie is the best. Walk to the nearby village of Seguret."

"We felt like we were at home. . .The 'hole in the wall' terrace is a very special spot. We enjoyed the view, the breeze, our wine & cheese and the music (French love songs that we brought along). Perfect! ...
We loved our stay and wish that it could have been longer. This is a delightful house in a charming village of warm, friendly caring people. Your hosts will do whatever is possible to make your stay

"We spent 22 days and it was still not long enough. The owners were extremely helpful with our booking and provided a wealth of information before our arrival. We felt at home the minute we stepped in. It was charming and very well maintained. It is equipped with all modern conveniences. The terrace was the best place to enjoy a glass of wine and take in the views. The gas grill on the terrace was great for our evening meals. It's location in the village is so convenient. The bakery, cafe and grocer were all within a few steps from the front door. We rented bikes from Ventoux Bikes in Malaucène, about 25 min from Sablet. The rental prices were reasonable with friendly, helpful service. They also spoke English. We can't wait to book our next stay."

"We have arrived in heaven!"
We have arrived in heaven ! What a wonderful introduction to Provence. A beautifully decorated villa apartment with everything provided, set in the village square of a lovely little village just 40 minutes from Avignon. Well-appointed and beautifully decorated home with thoughtful hosts. This is the perfect place for people trying self-booked accommodation for the first time ... it is the best we have ever stayed in and was made so easy. An awesome home and base for some memorable exploring. The fabulous market and historic town of Vaison-la-Romaine just 20 minutes away, the breathtaking drives and views of Mont Ventoux (30 minutes) through to Avignon's castled city and historic bridge.... Wonderful memories to keep us going until we can return to see more that this wonderful region has to offer.

"As promised, La Trouvaille was spacious, charming, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and wonderfully located. Special mention must be made of the super comfortable beds - a must after a full day of exploring the sights! “The most wonderful place we have rented!”
This house is fabulously decorated and amazingly well appointed. Everything you could think of is here and its location by a boulangerie (yum!!) and a few steps from the best pizza in the world help. We loved every minute here and hope to return. This is a 3 floor stone house where the top floor's seating room opens out on a patio with a view of Seguret....the wonderful medieval village you can walk to. The owners of this place are wonderful to work with and totally willing to discuss anything with you. ...this is just the best place we have been and we plan to return!

"Wonderful Home in a Charming Hill Town"
My wife and I had a wonderful for two weeks in La Trouvaille in Sablet. The home was very spacious and had all of the conveniences, including washer, dryer and excellent wifi. The owners Deb and Gary were very helpful before our visit, including providing extensive guides to local sites, restaurants and wineries. The town of Sablet is a great place to get a real sense of small town life in Provence... La Trouvaille was everything that we could have hoped for in a place to base our vacation in Provence."

"Amazing & Memorable" That's how my husband and I would describe our time and accommodations at "La Trouvaille". The house was located right in the town and we walked to the bakery, grocery and the wine co-ops. The house was immaculate and decorated with lovely French colors, dishes and pottery. No detail was left undone. It was by far the best accommodations we enjoyed during our 5 weeks French adventure. The location was perfect for day trips and yet at the end of the day we loved coming "home" to our open air balcony and a glass of wine. We highly appreciated being met by Judith who explained about the house and also the maps, brochures and restaurant recommendations and French magazines that the owner had so graciously provided.

The fall turned out to be a perfect time to visit Provence and "La Trouvaille" in Sablet was an amazing home base for our travels through the region. The autumn light and colour in the surrounding vineyards were exquisite and provided a wonderful backdrop for walks to neighboring Seguret and around the village. The view from the terrace was mesmerizing and we spent time there every day, sipping coffee or wine and taking it all in. The home is immaculate, warm and inviting and is even more beautiful than the listing photos portray. The owners were fabulous to deal with, from initial contact to check-out, and their house manager Judith was delightful, showing us through when we first arrived & leaving her number should we need anything. As the house was so well-equipped and maintained we had no reason at all to contact her. The village of Sablet is enchanting and its people are warm and friendly. We enjoyed the bakeries, the small grocery, the local cafe and the wine-tasting co-operative, all only steps from the house. The beautiful markets, Roman ruins, medieval architecture and stunning countryside surrounding Sablet are forever etched in our memories and we want to return to this lovely stone house. " La Trouvaille" is indeed a special find and we highly recommend it.

Four of us stayed for a week at La Trouvaille. From our first emailed contacts with Deb, to our initial meeting with the local manager, the house itself, and the village and the whole experience were more than we expected or hoped for. The house is larger than it looked from the photos, beautifully appointed, fully equipped - we lacked for nothing - and were so comfortable...

A hearty thanks to Deb—so much careful planning and all amenities—this was a delightful house & we felt so at home here for our “vacances en Provence."

"La Trouvaille is a fantastic example of a wonderfully furnished and decorated gite full of little touches which provides for a beautiful experience.
The house provides lovely views into the village of Sablet and over to the medieval village of Seguret and provides both privacy for couples and communal space for all ina party to mix and mingle together. Bedrooms are beautifully appointed with excellent bathrooms attached. The kitchen has everything you would want and the information provided by Deb and Gary means that there are no difficulties in using any of the equipment and facilities throughout the house."

"Even more than we had hoped for..."
Lovely old Provençal house.
"We stayed here for two weeks with friends. It is a perfect home for four people. La Trouvaille was all we had hoped for and expected. Thick stone walls to keep us cool on days of 36 degree heat, a bedroom, sitting room and bathroom each and wonderful communal downstairs area commandeered by a large country farmhouse table where we spent much time enjoying the gorgeous local food and talking. You will want for nothing in this excellently equipped home....I mean nothing! The house overlooks the village square of Sablet so was perfect to walk a few steps to the patisserie for morning croissants or pate and cheese...The cafe was always buzzing and great for a cafe creme or a snack. We decided that Sablet is far and away the best of the villages in this part of France, a real working French village to experience the reality of living here. Others may be more picturesque but are chock full,of tourists and gift shops...
A beautiful home in a beautiful place."

Special mention must be made of the super comfortable beds...!
We have stayed in VRBO's all over the world and without hesitation I would recommend this slice of paradise. We spent the first of our two weeks on a tour with Off The Beaten Path which gave us an excellent introduction to Provence. Our stay in Sablet was the perfect venue to explore the region in greater depth. We targeted small villages rather than big cities and we were not disappointed. Information provided by Deborah and Caroline help guide our adventures. We spent our mornings with coffee and pastries in the house, our afternoons adventuring and our evening dining on the terrace and being grateful for all we were experiencing. Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.

Could not fault La Trouvaille
This home was historic and magical. It contained everything a family could need. There was even an Eski ( portable icebox) and a picnic set for us to take on day trips. The cooking facilities were fantastic. You know how some places have four of everything, and you find yourselves constantly washing up? La Trouvaille had plenty of crockery, cutlery etc. as well as some staples such as oil and condiments. The house was extremely spacious and the top floor had superb views across this fabulous wine country. The hosts were extremely accommodating, leaving detailed advice about what to see in the area, wine notes, and information about the town of Sablet. I would not hesitate to recommend La Trouvaille.
